The 2010 VETnetwork Conference is fast approaching and the theme for the Conference is "Creative Futures: the changing landscape." The landscape has rapidly changed and the Conference provides an outstanding opportunity to acknowledge current changes, develop solutions and create positive futures for all young people in Australia. We are delighted to announce that Professor Erica McWilliam has been confirmed as our first key note speaker. Erica is a Professor of Education in the Centre for Research into Pedagogy and Practice in the National Institute of Education, Singapore. She is also an Adjunct Professor in the ARC Centre of Excellence in Creative Industries and Innovation, in Australia. Her scholarship covers a wide spectrum, as is evidenced in her numerous publications on creative capacity building, innovative teaching and learning, research methodology and training and educational leadership and management.

The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) will partner with VETnetwork and host a VET Research Forum on 15 September as part of the Conference program. The research forum will showcase contemporary research from NCVER on VET and youth transitions. The Conference will also offer a variety of professional learning opportunities including industry and site visits, displays by key VET stakeholders and a number of networking opportunities.
